F-35 is not a fighter. Repeat with me, it’s not a fighter. It’s a Air borne central command vehicle. It transmits and simultaneously jams weapon systems to other aircraft. It has alien level tech inside lol. Given a direct dogfight the F-35 is dead. However the enemy aircraft would never see the F-35 or get that close before the F-35 either destroyed it via jamming and Active radar missiles or uses its f-15X wingman’s
Refreshing with a positive review. – No doubt there´s been some hefty R&D overruns (not surprisingly) and delays, but in the end the F-35 program will reap the benefits of shared components and technology between the a,b,c and as a high production volume, with falling unit costs, offers the US and it´s allies a superior air capability, that has the added benefit of working in seamless unisync during NATO exercises and missions. As the Pentagon has undoubtedly carried the weight of the R&D costs associated with the program, I have long been wondering why "only" 12 of the US allies have F-35´s on order. With more than 700 units produced and a 3,200 unit production run planned, this platform is bang for the buck in every sense.
