Monk Fist Damage

I'm just wondering what version of monk fist damage this server has? Evidently fist damage had changed somewhere in between the time I quit in 2004 until now where the delay was a static 38 and the damage was based on one's hand to hand skill. I was wondering if EQ Reborn is using the skill based damage or the old school way where you started off at 4/36 and it changed +1/-1 every 5 levels.

Hi,

I was wondering about this myself these days, while enjoying my monk.
I took a look at the p1999 values, which i'd consider pretty close or equal to classic.

Here the values (Human monk) were like

Level 1-4 --> 4/36
Level 5-9 --> 5/36
Level 10-14 --> 6/36
Level 15-19 --> 7/36
Level 20-24 --> 8/36

As I am only lvl 21 now, I'll stop here.

My experience on EQ reborn differs a bit. I won't comment on delay, as I never used a clock to check, but damage wise:

4 dmg at first levels: yes. Was hitting for 8dmg most of the time, which would correspond to a 4/xx ratio.
I also think it increase to 5dmg at some point during early levels (used cracked staffs most of the time though, so not sure what lvl exactly).
I am pretty sure that at around lvl 8, dmg was 6/xx as I was hitting for 12dmg.
Level 10 increased fist ratio to 7/xx and hits to 14.
Level 15 increased fist ratio to 8/xx and hits to 16.
At level 20, I noticed a major increase in damage.
I am now hitting for up to 21 damage. As I haven't seen 22 yet, I started wondering, as fist damage +1 would mean hit damage +2 due to the dmg*2 formula.
My interpretation is this:
Level 20 increased fist ratio to 10/xx and hits to 20 - and you get 1 bonus damage at lvl 20. This would differ significantly from classic, as bonus damage in classic kicked in at level 28.

Overall, I'd say monk fist damage here is way better than in classic.

EQEmu supports both "classic" and more modern hand to hand dmg/delay formulas. By default it's set up to use "classic."

Delay was never 36 btw, it's always been 35 at the low end. (I mean, parsing being off by 100 ms isn't too bad, but it's still 35)

Level 24, I hit max for 24 with fists
Level 25, I hit max for 26 with fists

Some additional info:

Apparently, melee damage got increased recently. Obviously I don't mind the dps boost, but at the same time, I feel a bit overpowered at the Moment.

Please feel free to correct me if I am making a mistake here.

I am now level 30 and my fists are hitting for c. 50dmg max. No significant increase in STR, still at 100 unbuffed.
Depending on main hand damage bonus, this would imply some fist base dmg of 23, 24 or 25. Delay could very well be close to classic (e.g. 34 or 35), but I haven't measured it yet. Thus, I'd assume I am currently running around dual whielding some 24/34 weapons. This would be a better ratio than any dropable weapon until Velious and have on-par dmg ratio with top velious dragon loot.

So, we were buffed, but have since been set back down to what it was before. At Level 11, my fists were 6 dmg. The damage cap formula seems to be (dmg+1) * 2. Thus, my fists were hitting for a maximum of 14. However, as soon as I reached 60 Offense (and maybe that was just coincidence), my fist damage was capping out at dmg*4, or 24 damage. At level 15, with my fists now 7 dmg, their damage cap was 28 yesterday. However, after logging in this morning, I've noticed my fists now only do the (dmg+1)*2 damage cap, which would be 16. Back in class, I seem to remember my fists doing significantly more damage, but I don't think that was until level 20 or so.

The formula is Floor(HtH skill/15)+3.
